Registration

Registration is closed

Age and level information: Middle school though high school for advanced beginners through advanced level players. The program is not appropriate for true beginners or elite level juniors.

Enrollment limit and registration: The program is limited to 36 kids.

Program format: Below description is for 2017.  Program format for 2018 may vary from the below due to the reduced number and sporadic nature of the scheduling this year.  Details will be posted soon.  On-line registration will start on 10/16/2017.

The program is a league designed to give kids match experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Each week, the kids will play at least one match in which they will record scores on provided score cards. During the first two weeks or so, the kids will be assigned to one of several age or experienced-based groups. The nature of the groups varies from year to year based on make-up of that year's players. Some years, the best break down is to have an A, B, and perhaps a C group. In other years, we have used an age-based system (U18, U14, etc.).

Play is mainly doubles due to the number of kids, but there are usually opportunities for singles play over the course of the program. Because of time constraints, matches are not full matches. Instead, with doubles, players will play four TOTAL games (not first to four) with each person on their assigned court. Since there will be four players, that will amount to three rounds. Player A will play with player B for four games, then with player C for four games, and then with player D for four games, etc. Anytime the score is 2-2, the kids are to play a tie break (first to seven points). Occasionally and when instructed, the kids will play eight total games, instead of four, or a pro-set to eight. Matches will be assigned each week, but friends and doubles partners will have plenty of opportunities to play together. Singles matches will be one eight-game (first to 8) pro set with a tie break at 7-7. Scoring for all matches will be N0-ADD unless otherwise instructed. Occasionally, we may do some other game-based activities for part of the morning. Details on how the league is scored week to week will be posted later in the fall.
