  • Volunteers needed for Youth Tennis Program

    The Swing, Hit & Ace Program will be going on again this winter at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. This program is completely reliant on volunteers to help instruct kids from 5-14 years old. Last winter the program had ~ 150 kids and we're expecting an even bigger turnout this year.

    When: 3:30pm-6pm on Saturdays from 11/28/2026-1/30/2026 (dates listed on flyer:Madison, WI- GMTA-Winter SHA 2026 FLYER.pdf)

    Where: Nielsen Tennis Stadium

    Why Volunteer: On top of helping inspire the next generation of tennis stars: Volunteers are paid for each session they attend. Also free food is provided for all volunteers after each lesson. 

    If you haven't ever taught tennis before: That's fine. We have many experienced volunteers who can show you the ropes.

    You don't have to make all the lessons. Even making 1 session helps the program.

  • Winter Swing Hit & Ace Program Registration now open!

    Registration for Swing, Hit & Ace 2026-2027 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium is Now Open!!

    The winter Swing, Hit & Ace 2026-2027 program will be taking place again at the Nielsen this year! This program is for beginner to intermediate 5-14 year old tennis players. Lessons will be taught over the course of 8 Saturdays from 11/28/2026-1/30/2027 (See attached flyer for dates and times).

    To register go to swinghitace.com. Once there click on Juniors, then Wisconsin and then select an age group. More details on the dates and times of the program can be found there. Registration is $75 and closes November 17th.

  • Summer Flex League Opportunity for 3.0 and 3.5 Adult Players

    John Wheeler is running a summer adult flex league. See below for more details.

    Madison Area Adult Flex League

    Adult Flex League is a tennis league where you earn points for every game you win in your individual matches. Flex League gives players an opportunity to play against different competition throughout the summer and play matches that fit around everyone’s busy schedules, because you and your opponent decide where and when to play your match.

    Flex League is for players with an NTRP of 3.0 or 3.5. If you do not have an NTRP rating you may self rate. Directions on how to self rate can be found at this link How To Self Rate. League play is scheduled for 10 weeks and will begin June 15. Playoff matches will be played during week 10.

    Each player will have one match per week scheduled. The league week will run Monday – Sunday.

  • Summer Match Play for Middle Schoolers at Memorial High

    Middle School Match Play Returns to Memorial High This Summer

    Calling all middle school tennis players in the Madison area — keep your racquet swinging through summer break with USTA Midwest's Summer Middle School Match Play program at Memorial High School.

    Each session starts with a coach-led dynamic warm-up, then players jump straight into match play. Singles and doubles, coed, with scores reported so you can track your progress. Pick the dates that fit your schedule — no need to commit to all of them.

    The Details

    • Where: Memorial High School
    • When: 3–5 PM on 6/15, 6/16, 6/22, 6/23, 7/13, 7/14, 7/20, and 7/21
    • Cost: $10 per date (no refunds after the program starts)
    • Requirements: Free USTA Junior Membership

    Whether you're sharpening your game for the fall season or just want a fun way to stay on the court, this is a great chance to play competitive matches in a coached environment.

    GMTA's Junior Summer Tennis Camp is back at La Follette High School, and registration is open now for all three sessions. Resister soon to secure your spot -- some sessions are nearing capacity!


    Here's what you need to know:

    • Designed for middle school advanced beginners up to varsity level players
    • Three 2-week sessions: June 15-25, July 6-16, and July 20-30
    • Monday-Thursday, 9:00-11:30 AM (Fridays held for rain makeups)
    • $209 per session
    • Only 32 spots per session — register by May 22 to guarantee your t-shirt!

    Led by Coach Nan Perschon — two-time State Coach of the Year — the camp focuses on drills, match play, technique, and tactical development to help you level up your game.

    The winter Madison Youth Team Tennis (MYTT) program will be taking place again at the Nielsen and Powless this winter! This program is for beginner to intermediate 5-14 year old tennis players. Lessons will be taught over the course of 7 Saturdays from November-March (See attached flyer for dates and times). Classes start November 29th.
